dsh-autopsy 🧟
Every session dies. Know why. A DeepSeek Harness plugin that post-mortems every coding session and renders a shareable verdict card: letter grade, cause of death, cost breakdown, killer timeline.
Not another gamification layer that hands out trophies. The autopsy tells you how the session actually went — and writes it on a card you'll want to post.
✨ What you get
- Letter grade (S–F) for every session, computed live as you work
- Cause-of-death detection:
test-death-spiral— N consecutive failing test runs (with receipts)yolo-no-tests— files edited, zero tests ever runrework-churn— come-back-and-re-edit passes over "finished" filesdead-turns— turns where the model spun without touching anythingcontext-asphyxiation— dozens of turns circling one file
- Verdict card (
~/.dsh-autopsy/latest.html) — self-contained HTML: grade, vitals, token cost, killer moments timeline - Share text (
~/.dsh-autopsy/share.txt) — ready to paste - Live log line on every grade change:
[autopsy] a1b2c3… grade C (61/100) · test-death-spiral - Loopback API at

📦 Install
dsh plugin add dsh-autopsy
or manually: clone into your DSH plugins directory and pnpm install.
🔧 How it works
Zero core changes. The host half subscribes to the official read-only session/event seam (tool/call, tool/result, assistant/message, turn/end…), folds events through a pure reducer, and re-renders the verdict on every assistant message:
session/event ──▶ host (lib/index.js) ──▶ engine (lib/engine.js) ──▶ card (lib/card.js)
official correlation, pure classifier → pure verdict →
seam usage extraction reducer → verdict self-contained HTML
The engine is fully pure — tested offline with mocked event streams, no DSH required:
npm test # 6 tests: grading, spiral detection, freeze semantics, crash-safety
npm run demo # generates demo/autopsy-card.html from a realistic disaster session
🧾 Verdict model v1
Start at 100. Deduct for failed runs, streak depth, untested edits, blind first-edits, dead turns, churn. A session with no detected causes and real tool activity floors at S — "No cause of death found. Suspiciously healthy."
🗺️ Roadmap
- Per-session history gallery (
/autopsy/sessions) - Model-price table → exact $ cost on the card
- Web UI panel slot integration
