Optional bundled skill provider that contributes the DietrichGebert/ponytail skills to ctx.skills, adapted for dsh: ponytail, ponytail-review, ponytail-audit, ponytail-debt, ponytail-gain, and ponytail-help. Slash commands are rewritten to bare skill names, and the harness-specific help sections are removed. Redistributed under MIT; see assets/NOTICE.md.

Mount the plugin to enable the provider. Optional skillsRoot overrides the packaged skills/ directory. This package is not part of the official main dsh-base composition; install it explicitly with dsh plugin add or a custom cordis.patch.yml.

The primary ponytail skill is marked alwaysApply: true (upstream .cursor/rules/ponytail.mdc). Mount @firefly0621/dsh-skill-always-apply next to this provider to inject its body before the first model request; without that consumer, it stays a catalog + on-demand skill tool load.

Model Experience

Indirectly, through @deepseek-ai/dsh-tool-skill, which renders catalog entries and selected skill bodies.

KV Cache effect

When mounted, its catalog entries and any loaded bodies change the provider KV prefix at their insertion points. Setting the composition row to disabled: true removes that effect.

Known Limitations and Deferred Work

• The ponytail runtime (hooks, MCP server, session-start auto-activation, and the PONYTAIL_DEFAULT_MODE config) is not mirrored; dsh loads the skill on-demand and applies the ladder while the skill is loaded.
• Upstream installer CLI and agent-specific packaging are not mirrored; only the skill trees are bundled for the dsh skill catalog.
• Upstream sync is manual: copy a newer release's skills/, re-apply the slash-command and help-section adaptation, and review the diff.
