WorkBuddy Link

A focused WorkBuddy API-Key model provider for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web and managed agent delegation.

This is a community integration, not an official WorkBuddy or DeepSeek product.

Install

Requires Node.js 22.19+ and DSH 0.2.1-rc.2 or a compatible 0.2.x host. The tested baseline is DSH 0.2.1-rc.2, Node.js 26 on macOS.

Restart the relevant DSH Host after installation. Select WorkBuddy and an available model in DSH Web.

If another enabled plugin already owns the workbuddy-cn route, disable/remove that provider before enabling WorkBuddy Link. DSH rejects duplicate route registrations.

Credentials

Use the existing DSH credential reference WORKBUDDY_API_KEY, or provide that variable in the environment that starts the Host:

The DSH credential service takes precedence over the launch environment. Do not put the actual key in the plugin configuration. WorkBuddy Link does not copy keys into sessions, model metadata or logs.

Capabilities

• Account-scoped online model discovery, plus optional manual model metadata.
• The provider ID stays workbuddy-cn.
• Streaming replies, tool calls, reasoning levels and image attachments through the official DSH SDK.
• Cancellation and bounded request-image budgets.
• Necessary outbound instruction/header compatibility without deleting system messages, tools or business instructions.
• Safe HTTP/business-code diagnostics. 11128 is reported as channel compatibility rejection, not guessed credential expiry.
• No extra retry loop; DSH continues to own the agent loop, tools, permissions, sessions and retry policy.

网页登录、积分、多账号管理、会话凭据切换、通用 Provider 接管、第三方视觉包装器专用逻辑和旧版 DSH 兼容不在本包范围。

Optional configuration

The plugin entry/configuration namespace is workbuddy-provider. Its schema uses the official DSH pi-ai Config. This integration consumes the credential reference, models, reasoning, timeout, image budgets and retry-policy fields for providers.workbuddy-cn.

Omit models to use the online catalog. A manual list can declare model IDs, capacities, input modalities and reasoning-effort mappings. Custom endpoints and WebSocket transport are not implemented by this integration.

Managed controllers can keep using provider: workbuddy-cn with a model offered by the account. No WorkBuddy-Link-specific delegation protocol is required.

Verification

• 42 regression tests for metadata, SDK projection, tool/image preservation, cancellation, error privacy, Fetch compatibility and registration.
• Actual Web inference and managed-tool checks on the tested baseline.
• Real read_image, write, edit and bash execution, plus continuation of an existing managed session.

The live checks used WorkBuddy China deepseek-v4.1-flash at High reasoning. They do not claim every advertised model, operating system or future upstream channel policy has been tested.

Runtime dependencies are the official DSH SDK and pi-ai. There is no vendored third-party WorkBuddy plugin implementation. Host-local migration scripts, credentials, sessions and operational logs are not part of this repository or the npm package.
